“When you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras.”
A daily rare-answer game for medics

The old aphorism trains clinicians to reach for the common diagnosis first, and most of the time it is right.

But zebras still walk through the door, and someone has to be the one who spots them.

Six prompts. One answer each. The rarer your correct answer, the rarer the animal you spot.

You get 30 seconds a prompt. Anyone can name a cause of chest pain. “MI” is a dung beetle, while “Kounis syndrome” is a zebra. If an answer isn't on the list, it's refused and you lose only the time it took. You can try again until the clock runs out.
